Oliver Woods makes his home in Clackamas, Oregon with his wife and three home schooled children. He is the headmaster of ClassicalFree Virtual Academy and President of Target Market Strategies, a telemarket/market research company. He has authored five books on theory and practice in political science and history. Education includes a Masters Degree in Education, a Bachelors in Journalism and completion of the Graduate Program in Bible & Theology at Multnomah Bible College in Portland, Oregon.
Active in Oregon politics since 1976, Mr. Woods has participated in over 400 political surveys, with primary focus on Oregon legislative campaigns. He has a 24-year background in market research and telemarketing, including employment with Portland research firms such as Bardsley & Haslacher and Columbia Information Systems. That experience included electronic testing of television and print advertising and developing market analysis and recommendations for firms as diverse as AT&T, du Pont, Hallmark, Montgomery Ward and Nike. He also served as ghost writer of the “Utah Poll”, a statewide human-interest/political poll, which appeared weekly in the Salt Lake Tribune under the byline of J. Roy Bardsley. Mr. Bardsley had written the popular column for over 30 years.
He was recognized for his pioneering work in the field of education in the 2004 edition of Two Thousand Outstanding Academics of the 21st Century and Leading Educators of the World, both publications of the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England.
