Charlotte Iserbyt: Deliberate Dumbing Down of the World
Deliberately dumb
“Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt’s new book, ‘ the deliberate dumbing down of america’ is without doubt one of the most important publishing events in the annals of American education in the last hundred years.
“John Dewey’s ‘School and Society,’ published in 1899, set American education on its course to socialism. Rudolf Flesch’s `Why Johnny Can’t Read’ published in 1955, informed American parents that there was something terribly wrong with the way the schools were teaching children to read …
“But Iserbyt has done what no one else wanted or could do. She has put together the most formidable and practical compilation of documentation describing the well-planned ‘deliberate dumbing down’ of American children by their education system.’” Samuel L. Blumenfeld, writing on “Deliberately dumbing us down,” Dec. 2 on World Net Daily at worldnetdaily.com
Charlotte Iserbyt served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education, during the first Reagan Administration, where she first blew the whistle on a major technology initiative which would control curriculum in America’s classrooms.

The Government School Priesthood
“The current situation allows the government and big business to manufacture and maintain our culture for us, and in turn, control remains in the hands of the experts and institutions.” -- Helen Hegener, Alternatives in Education
The $600B per year public school monopoly is a hierarchy--a top-down pyramid of control, similar to that of a large church. For its power, it depends on psychological conditioning -- the willingness of those at the lower levels to believe in and obey the tenets and commands of the higher-ups. More...
How Colleges Purge Conservatives
In my last column, I commented on the repression exercised by college professors upon their impressionable students. Their goal is to mold those students who come in without many beliefs until they reflect, in perfect uniformity, a secular worldview. Students whose beliefs already match professors’ ideal ideological paradigm are rewarded. Those who refuse to conform are at the very least persecuted, and they are often denied graduation........

The bureaucracy of the modern establishment has given us a plethora of professionals, yet most of them are useless. The sad fact is that we as a people have turned over our well being to the bureaucracy of professionals, and we are quickly forfeiting our greatest power -- choice. The professionals declare the people as "unfit" for freedom, and therefore, only the bureaucracy of professionals are free.

In summary, why would Senator Schumer want a no confidence vote in light of America's governmental structure that does not need it? Is Schumer a Pilgrim or a Boy Scout? There is big power and big money behind the goal to unite America with Britain. Freedom, when it is gone, is gone. At every turn, it appears Americans are nothing but serfs! In light of the above, Schumer and the other 52 should be hanged for treason, Rudy Giuliani should renounce his knighthood, Bush I should renounce his knighthood, and Bush II should be brought into alignment with the Constitution......

What Cho Learned In
The English Department By Phyllis Schlafly
Freedom21 conference speaker, 2007
What was the motive behind 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui's killing of 32 students and teachers at Virginia Tech? Why was he consumed with hate, resentment, and bitterness?
Cho was an English Department major and senior. As a frequent lecturer on college campuses, I have discovered that the English Departments are often the weirdest and/or the most leftwing.
A look at the websites of Virginia Tech's English Department and of its professors reveals their mindset. We don't yet know which courses Cho took, but it could have been any of these.
Did he take Professor Bernice L. Hausman's English 5454 called "Studies in Theory: Representing Female Bodies"? The titles of the assigned readings include "Black Bodies, White Bodies: Toward an Iconography of Female Sexuality in Late Nineteenth-Century Art, Medicine, and Literature," "The Comparative Anatomy of Hottentot Women in Europe, 1815-1817," "Selling Hot Pussy: Representations of Black Female Sexuality in the Cultural Marketplace," "The Anthropometry of Barbie: Unsettling Ideals of the Feminine Body in Popular Culture," and "Foucault, Femininity, and the Modernization of Patriarchal Power."
One of the assignments in this course (worth 10 percent of the total grade) is to "choose one day in which they dress and comport themselves in a manner either more masculine or more feminine than they would normally." More ... More...
Christians need Exodus from 'Pharoah's system'
Minister says 3 of 4 kids lose religious beliefs at public schools
By Bob Unruh
© 2007 WorldNetDaily.com
Exodus, according to the dictionary, is "a going out, departure or emigration," or "the departure of the Israelites from Egypt under Moses." Now there are Christian leaders who would like to add another definition: "The mass departure of Christians from the public school system."
Chaplain E. Ray Moore of Exodus Mandate, whose goal is to "encourage and assist Christian families to leave Pharoah's school system," said there's an urgent need Christian parents must understand.
"Based on statistics, there is a 70-to-80 percent chance that a [Christian] child will abandon the church and their faith in a public school career," Moore told WND. The bottom line, then, is Christian parents need to lobby their pastors, pastors need to lobby their denominations, and their denominations need to start programs creating and operating public schools. U.S. Health Freedom on Verge of Collapse
The anti-American FDA is actively seeking to undermine U.S. laws and harmonize our dietary supplement laws with Mexico and Canada. This is being done through the Trilateral Cooperation Charter – an illegal agreement set up with health regulatory agencies in Mexico and Canada. It is part of the campaign towards a North American Union, one which would be a catastrophe for health freedom in this country as dietary supplement laws in Canada and Mexico are far more restrictive than in the U.S......

Staying Strong in College (Part 1 of 2) -- Noah Riner and David Wheat Freshman David Wheaton had barely stepped foot in his new dorm room when several fellow students knocked on his door with pitchers of beer and invitations to numerous parties. Then he began attending classes, where the REAL assault on his Christian faith began. Today, the author of "University of Destruction" discusses the spiritual challenges students face on college campuses, both Christian and secular. Also, Dartmouth student Noah Riner recalls making national headlines for boldly declaring the gospel in a speech before the college's student body.

That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? Misguided on global warming
In the August 2005 issue Andy Crouch wrote an article chiding evangelicals for mistrusting scientists on the issue of greenhouse warming.1 He represents those evangelical leaders, including the editors of Christianity Today, who strongly believe that humans are warming the planet so fast that we need to act immediately to avoid catastrophic warming:
The theory is the all-but-unanimous consensus that human beings are changing the climate by emitting gigatons of carbon into the atmosphere, and that if we do nothing to change our behavior, the warming trend that has taken hold for the past century may well become a runaway gallop.1
There is still a significant minority of atmospheric scientists and climatologists who are skeptical of the significance of man-induced greenhouse warming.2 However, these scientists are not in positions of power and are treated almost as badly by the mainstream establishment as believers in young-earth creationism (or intelligent design). Crouch is correct that the issue is not that man is causing global warming, since skeptics also believe in man-caused global warming. However, he fails to inform his readers that the issue is over how much warming and whether it will have a net harmful effect. More...
The PC campus – politically corrupt
January 26, 2007 By Joseph Farah
I'm kind of tired of hearing about our "politically correct" colleges and universities. There's nothing "politically correct" about them. They are politically corrupt. Let me give you a personal and very recent example of what I'm talking about. My eldest daughter was mostly homeschooled. Later, she found she had a love for art and interior design. She decided she wanted to pursue a career in that area. To enter the art school of her choice, she needed to take some basic educational courses and decided the easiest and most economical choice would be through the Northern Virginia Community College system. As a graduate of the "public university" myself, I expected the worst in political indoctrination – even in this so-called "red state." (Column continues below)
But nothing could prepare me for the horror story my daughter told me after her first class in the fundamentals of design materials – a required course for her to advance to the prestigious art school she hopes to attend in a year or two. The professor began the four-hour class by showing Al Gore's new movie, "An Inconvenient Truth." That's right. That's what I said. The taxpayer-supported professor at this taxpayer-supported institution abused her students on the first day of an art class by showing them Al Gore's propaganda flick on "global warming." But it gets worse – a lot worse. More ...

What's Wrong With Vocational School?
Too many Americans are going to college. BY CHARLES MURRAY Wednesday, January 17, 2007. The topic yesterday was education and children in the lower half of the intelligence distribution. Today I turn to the upper half, people with IQs of 100 or higher. Today's simple truth is that far too many of them are going to four-year colleges. Begin with those barely into the top half, those with average intelligence. To have an IQ of 100 means that a tough high-school course pushes you about as far as your academic talents will take you. If you are average in math ability, you may struggle with algebra and probably fail a calculus course. If you are average in verbal skills, you often misinterpret complex text and make errors in logic. These are not devastating shortcomings. You are smart enough to engage in any of hundreds of occupations. You can acquire more knowledge if it is presented in a format commensurate with your intellectual skills. But a genuine college education in the arts and sciences begins where your skills leave off. More ...
Larry P. Arnn, President, Hillsdale College, November 2006 - Many of our politicians have it backwards these days. It's not a shame to lose an election. But it is a shame to serve a wrong idea—which is what Republicans, while in control of the White House and both houses of Congress, have been doing the past six years in education policy. Most recently, they have been seeking to reauthorize the Higher Education Act of 1965, the first and still the authoritative assertion of the modern bureaucratic state into higher learning.
A product of the Great Society, the Act provides direct aid from the federal government to colleges and universities and their students. With this aid comes rules, rules by the tens or hundreds of thousands, rules beyond the knowing of any person. Every year these rules are adjusted, refined, forgotten, remembered, and reinterpreted in countless ways by countless people. But every five or six years, relatively major changes are made by several pieces of legislation. This is what is meant by “reauthorization.” Full article ...

VIDEO: Progress Continues Toward a North American Union
CNN - Lou Dobbs When Mexican president Vicente Fox leaves office this week and Felipe Calderon takes his place, President Bush will be the last of the so-called three amigos. Bush, Fox, and, of course, Canadian prime minister Paul Martin were the originators of the so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership, which critics call nothing more than a North American union. It means open borders, commerce of all costs, and, by the way, without the approval of either American voters or the U.S. Congress. Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch said: “There’s nothing wrong with neighboring governments talking to each other, synchronizing their watches to make sure they’re all on the same page in the cases of emergency or on trade issues or even on the flows of goods and people. But if policies are being made that the American people might oppose, or that are contrary to the law, especially as it relates to immigration, you know, they’re doing something a bit more nefarious.” He points to SPP documents urging the free flow of goods and people across borders and a wish list from business interests that borders remain open during a flu pandemic. Worse, critics say foreign policy elites are promoting a European-style union, erasing borders between the three countries and eventually moving to a single North American currency called the amero. A Commerce Department spokesman, however, denies this: “There is absolutely no plan for a common currency.” View Video…
The Dirty Dozen: America’s Most Bizarre and Politically Correct College Courses
Occidental College’s The Phallus ranked the most bizarre class of ’06 -’07
HERNDON, VA – As college costs soar through the roof—averaging above $31,000 a year for tuition, room & board—today’s college students study adultery, the male genital, and Native American feminism. The Dirty Dozen highlights the most bizarre and troubling instances of leftist activism supplanting traditional scholarship in our nation’s colleges and universities.
The growth of these courses gobbles up tons of money and resources and ignores scholarship from conservatives. For instance, books and speeches from the late Milton Friedman and Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick are rarely studied in the classroom, yet leftist works are prevalent in college classrooms nationwide. Scores of courses were researched from hundreds of the nation’s leading schools. The Dirty Dozen is the worst of the worst. This year, we have also included a dishonorable mentions category—courses that could’ve easily made the list. More ...
